Over several days during the month of May 1970, The Stooges went into Elektra Sounds Recorders in Los Angeles to cut what would be their second, and ultimately final, album for the label. It’s no wonder, although still kind of remarkable, that Miles Davis thought the group was good, or at least that their cocaine was excellent. 50 years ago this week, August 7 th – 9th, 1970 The Stooges appeared at Jackson, Michigan’s version of Woodstock – The Goose Lake Festival which showcased many of Detroit’s hometown heroes; The MC5, Bob Seger, Detroit, Savage Grace, SRC, and Third Power along with Chicago, The Faces, Jethro Tull, Mountain, Ten Years After, The James Gang and more. 1970 rollin' in sight.
